President

Robert (Bob) F. Brogan is an experienced elder law and estate planning attorney who leads Brogan Law Group with a focus on compassionate, personalized legal guidance for families throughout New Jersey. Throughout his career, Bob has helped individuals and families address complex legal issues related to aging, long-term care, Medicaid eligibility, asset protection, special needs planning, and trust and estate matters.
Bob is nationally recognized for his deep knowledge of elder law, tax law and special needs planning. He is certified as an Elder Law Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation, a credential awarded by the American Bar Association accredited foundation that reflects expertise and commitment in the field.
Drawing on decades of experience, Bob has held leadership positions in several respected professional organizations. He presently serves as President on the Board of Directors of the Special Needs Alliance, a national group of attorneys devoted to disability and special needs law. Robert has also served on the Board of Directors of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and as a past president of the New Jersey chapter of that organization. He has chaired the Elder and Disability Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association, where he worked to shape policies affecting seniors and individuals with disabilities.
Bob’s commitment to the legal profession extends beyond practice. He regularly lectures to other attorneys at state and national continuing education programs on topics such as Medicaid planning, asset protection strategies, special needs planning, sophisticated tax planning, particularly with trusts, and legal issues related to aging. He has also authored articles for national legal publications, sharing his insights with peers and helping advance understanding of complex legal topics.
His expertise has been recognized by his peers over many years. Bob has been selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers magazine consistently since 2008, reflecting ongoing professional achievement. He also holds an AV Preeminent Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, a distinction that signifies high ethical standards and professional ability.
Bob earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism and political science from Rutgers University, his law degree from Rutgers Law School-Camden, and an advanced law degree (LL.M) in taxation from Villanova University’s Charles Widger School of Law.
Outside of his legal work, Bob values family life and community. He has been happily married for many years and is a proud parent of 8, including one child with Type 1 diabetes and another who is on the ASD spectrum. His personal experiences shape his deep commitment to helping families protect their futures and navigate life’s transitions with confidence.
